PERFORMANCE CAMPUS
September 2017 - December 2017
My final year thesis was a regeneration project on Morrison’s Island, Cork City.
Phase 1 was to concentrate solely on a rehearsal centre.
The proposed rehearsal centre faced several issues simultaneously; one was the derelict site where it would be located, another the restriction of space in the adjacent theatre hall, and finally the lack of footfall in the area.
Each of these issues were addressed with the final design. The project’s aesthetic form rejuvenated O’Keefe Street. The rehearsal centre provided public spaces for rehearsing and socialising. The centre offered the existing theatre, Fr. Matthew Hall, much needed rehearsal space and increased the footfall to the area.
The Rehearsal Centre and Fr. Matthew Hall theatre would become part of a bigger project, the PERFORMANCE CAMPUS.
PERFORMANCE CAMPUS
January 2018 - May 2018
My final year thesis was a regeneration project on Morrison’s Island, Cork City.
Phase 2 incorporates the Broadcasting Centre into the public realm.
The thesis begged the question whether the provision of an interactive activity could attract people to a specific area. And if so, could the arts be a way of getting people to visit Morrison’s Island and interact with its community?
Using an existing theatre, Fr. Mathew Hall, was a way to bring communities together. Getting people to physically interact with the area added to the Island’s activities.
The provision of multi-functional spaces like the Rehearsal Centre, the Fr. Mathew Hall theatre and a Broadcasting Centre localised all the necessities that the Performance Campus would need. This focus on localised functions gave the community of Morrison’s Island no reason to go elsewhere, thus creating an entirely self-sustaining campus.

This project respects the topography of Cobh, Co. Cork, Ireland and seamlessly places a tidal pool at the heart of Cobh’s coastline. The project consists of a range of pools: an open sea swimming pool, an open air 25 metre pool and a shallow pool for children. The project also houses a sauna and changing room facilities.
January 2017 - May 2017
The pavilion’s function was to provide a waiting area for ferry passengers. While waiting for their ferry to leave, passengers could explore the pavilion’s woodland-like oasis, which would offer both the intimacy of a forest and the illumination of a clearing.

This project encompasses two overlapping juxtapositions:
“Public & Private” and “Expansion & Contraction”
The public and private functions meet expanding and contracting spaces in South Lake Seattle’s District Library.
