quaker Road Housing

This dense housing estate project is located just off Quaker Road, Cork City, and sits parallel to Summerhill Street. The goal of this scheme was to achieve a high-density rate while catering to small to mid-sized families.

The density of the proposal is inspired by Danish schemes like Arne Jacobsen Bellevue Bay homes whose low-rise communal designs granted users decent privacy while living adjacent to their neighbours.

Formerly the site of the Eircom tower, the existing brownfield site is enclosed by a 3-meter high boundary wall, providing a high level of privacy for future residents.

The project offers residents both duplex and terraced houses each with modern features.
